BLACK BRITISH VOICES PROJECT (BBVP)

Recognised as the first ever survey completed by the greatest number of Black people in UK history.

The Black British Voices Project (BBVP) gave Black people in the UK an opportunity to “define themselves in an autonomous way” for the first time.

The survey provides an up-to-date portrait of Black British communities and ran from 24 May to 7 November 2021.

BBVP is a partnership between I-Cubed Group, the University of Cambridge and the Voice Newspaper.

The report was launched in the House of Commons in September 2023 and can be downloaded for free.

The major national survey explored the evolution of Black British identities as part of a wider research project and has been described as the first of its kind.

The research led by the Cambridge sociologist and author Dr Kenny Monrose, and backed by entrepreneur Dr Maggie Semple OBE, co-founder of I-Cubed Group Ltd and lead ambassador for the Black British Voices Project.
